The story is this:
This was the first time SCI ever played at Devils Head, which is a ski/golf resort. In fact, this was the first time Devils Head ever hosted a concert. SCI played a show on the 23rd and another on the 24th. There was camping onsite for about 500 people. After the show the first night, the boys in the band strolled out into the camping area with acoustic instruments and proceded to have a little jam. Luckily, it was caught on tape for us all....

Soundforge notes: When I got this show, the levels of the crowd cheering between songs was so high relative to the music, that when I played it on my stereo with the level comfortable for listening to the music, the crowd nearly blew my speakers. So i used the Graphic Fader in Soundforge to tweek the levels of the crowd between songs. I then normalized it to bring the overall level up. The end result is quite pleasing.

Subject: I can't take credit for taping this one.

I am working through the DAT masters of shows that I have recorded. I have just gotten to the 2000 SCI Devil's Head shows, when I saw that I was credited with taping the campground set.
I was a little confused because I couldn't remember being there! I was at the two ski-slope shows, but my family and I stayed at the hotel on site. But I slept well and heard about the campground acoustic set the next day.
Someone gave me a clone of the tape. My copy is recorded at 48K, so I know it's not my master; at that time I was recording everything at 44.1K.
I very well may have burned it to the CDR that was transferred because I was using an HHb CDR-850 to transfer from DAT to CDR at that time.
In any event, I can't take credit for this little gem because I was probably sleeping during it!

Subject: late nite cheese

I was at this one and got the word form an insider that the band was comming out to do a late nite blue grass set. The word ended up being true and all of the tapers rushed to set up their gear. Unfortunatly not many of us got through the crowd to a point where the recorded result was listenable. The show was good but the barking dogs and crying children sounded poor on the recording. Thank goodness someone cleaned up one of these recordings it is really worth a listen.
